Kick Up Your Heels and Dance – Sunday Devotional With Putting On The New Magazine

“So David went down and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed Edom to the City of David with rejoicing. When those carrying the ark of the Lord had taken six steps, he sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf. David, wearing a linen ephod, danced before the Lord with all his might, while he and the entire house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.” 2 Samuel 6:13-15

There is a certain feeling you get when you know you’re being obedient to God. Many times we push away what it is we know to be true in our gut about people, situations, and circumstances. By following God you don’t have to fear, because when you ask for wisdom, discernment, understanding, and knowledge God will strengthen you, and equip you to deal with the things you will get a heads up on. God will strengthen you to leave that job, leave that abusive relationship, you will get discipline in the things you know you should do, and part from the activities you know you should not be doing.

In this text, Kind David, after going about it the wrong way went home and came back to bring the Ark of the Covenant home. As a result, David danced with all his might, before the Lord. It is a wonderful feeling.
