I often marveled at how long it took for our heavenly Father to get me to the point of being able to use me to spread the gospel. What a road trip that was. I spent at least 25 years living for myself which is AKA for fumbling around in the dark with only shadows of who I could be ,at best to ignite me, but in reality no real structure, direction, or source to plug into for my life. I think every person goes through this stage when you are forced to decide who or what you will ultimately serve. God or Satan. Yes, God made us to be a people of choice, and choose , no matter how hard it is, we must do.
In my experience there is a particular rumbling inside that happens to one who is His. There is a wooing that our heavenly Father does to those children that are chosen and called, and no matter what you do, no matter where you go, and no matter how far you run away – you always feel it. For it is those that God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers (Romans 8:29)
Oh, yes the conforming to the likeness of Jesus Christ is a humbling process to say the least, but I am understanding that this metamorphosis is not done so you can have that fabulous job or that Greta Garbo wife, nope, becoming like Christ is not done so that you can have a block named after you, it is not to get married, to be rich. I don’t think God has gone through all this to save humanity so that, he can show that you’re the biggest, the brightest, or the best. I know that there are some whom are desperately wanting to leave a legacy highlighting what they have done, where they have been, and what they have accomplished here on earth, but a follower of Jesus Christ, in my opinion, acknowledges that the Godhead has manifested the kingdom in each one of us not to leave our legacy, but to leave His.
Hmm, I have to say that it disturbs me that we live in a time that when you see the platforms God can take a human to when they put Him first, it has given some that claim to seek HIs face a hidden agenda. You might not agree, but in some ways , in some people’s eyes, it has made being a Christian ‘popular’ and many appear to be crossover Christians. You know, they hop on the gravy train of Christianity, to network, so that they can get a following only to ultimately crossover to where they really wanna be. It is sad, but we live in those times that even those that claim they believe have a personal agenda, and it is not to do the Lord’s will.
So my question for you today is: Are you looking to glorify yourself or your heavenly Father?
With the New Year approaching it is something to meditate on. It is something for us all, that believe, to meditate on, and change if needed. I am a believer that we must always check our hearts, and on a heart level always check our motives. so, with the New Year approaching let’s all make a fresh start. In Jesus Name…Amen.
Hugs to you all…
