Greetings My Friends!
“Then Jonathan made a covenant with David, because he loved him as his own soul. And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was on him and gave it to David, and his armor, and even his sword and his bow and his belt. And David went out and was successful wherever Saul sent him.” (1 Samuel 18:1-5)
I love this, because a real friend loves you just like they love themselves. A real friend feels compelled to give you whatever they have, even if its the shirt on their back, just to see you succeed. A real friend utters the words, what is mine is yours and is committed to loving you no matter what. A real friend rejoices over your success and prays over you when you cannot. We are truly blessed when we can have at least one true confidante, one real relationship, or bond with a person. We are doubly blessed, when upon having that friendship, we can get as close as David and Jonathan were in their friendship. I pray for us all to have a Jonathan in our lives. In Jesus Name…Amen.
