Sometimes don’t you just wish life would hurry up? Things seem to drag out so slowly, and at times we are dragging right along with it. We find ourselves rushing through traffic to get to work, tapping our feet through an office meeting, shoving down our lunch, jumping into relationships–only to jump right out of it. It is no wonder we feel unsettled, restless, anxious and tired, because we use all of our energy rushing to the next stop sign.
Have you ever considered sitting still? Have you ever tried to simply relax with your thoughts knowing, with confidence, that God has your back? I worried about things for along time, but now I am getting better. Why?
“I delight to do thy will, O my God:yea, thy law is within my heart.” Psalms 40:8
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I can surely speak for myself. Knowing God and His will for my life settles the inner conflict I used to have inside. There is more of a peace, because in his word there are promises and in those promises I am liberated; free from the headaches, the worries, the meetings, the rushing, the tapping of my foot and the impatient person that threatens to rear its head when I don’t get what I want. Now I am convinced that sometimes sitting still is worth it.
