“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. we are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed;perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not abandoned;struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.” (2 Corinthians 4:7-12)

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4 :16-18)

I will never forget the first day I read this scripture. I was in the abyss of depression, and chaos in my life, and matters had, suddenly, made a turn for the worse. I cried out to God for encouragement, and so I did, what I like to call, bible roulette. I prayed to the Lord to tell me what to do, how to feel, and mostly to carry me through the emotional toxic pain I was in, and I asked , with tears running down my face, and panic in my heart, I asked the Lord ,again, how I was going to make it through this grief without losing my sanity.

I opened my bible, and trusted, wherever God wanted me to land, and took comfort, silently, that it was Him that would choose the words that I should hear. I read, and soaked up this scripture into my spirit, and I smiled and cried all at the same time because, according to these versus what I was seeing in my miserable little life,and what I was experiencing in my current circumstances was temporary, and would not last forever. What comfort this brought me for I needed to know that the pain, and anguish I was feeling would not have its grips on me forever. I know that there are many of you who are suffering, and feel pressed on every side of your life with pain oozing out of you like an infected sore. I know that , like an ant on the ground being stepped on, you feel crushed. I can imagine many of you must feel persecuted in your daily lives from so called friends, family, and bosses, that said they were for you and not against you, but it is through these experiences of things coming to an end in your life that you  carry around in your pain day to day. It is this pain that the  life of Him would have an opportunity to dwell in you also producing a future eternal glory that far outweighs what is happening now!

Beloved, when you love Jesus with all your heart, the people you might be around ,the friends you might have or the people you are working with may not agree with your Christian choices , but DON’T LOSE HEART for what might appear like wasting away to others you are truly, through Holy Spirit, being renewed day by day. Know that when you do things in His name and when you choose to allow Him to govern your life you are allowing God to complete the great work that he has already started  in you.  Oh yes, as this scripture says, fix your eyes not on what situations you are seeing currently, why? Because, the Triune God is working ,mightily, on your behalf in the unseen world in order for it to manifest in your life.Rest assured , in the pain you might be feeling, the pain that often feels like death is   God breaking desires, and strongholds in your life for you are a treasure in a jar of clay, and the sweet Lord is molding you to the beautiful person you will become…if you let him.
