How To Transition into 2016? Without Fear, and With Christ!

Transition can be difficult especially for those of us that have difficulty finalizing plans and committing  to the very steps ,one must take, to actually get to the promise land. It is no wonder to me that the 12 spies, which Moses dispersed to observe all the Lord had promised,  came back holding the grapes, but only two wanted to actually go and dwell amongst them. Why? because taking the land would mean transitioning, which sometimes, let’s just face it, is easier said, than done.

The key is to not lean on your own understanding, but trust and believe that what is impossible with man is , indeed, possible with God, and just because you can’t fathom it -it doesn’t mean that it can’t happen. Oh yes, the Lord starts at impossible, and He is also the master of suddenly so, feel free to take a Praise Break!

However, to the average person, transition can be excruciating because it is leaving the old, and pressing onto the new , and in that gesture alone much uncertainty exists, however when governed by God the one who loves us and is always looking for ways to bless us, should allow us to rest assured that we are safe in the dark why? because in Him dwells no darkness ,just light…

For the bible says, ” Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a new way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”

Isn’t this wonderful?!?!Through Holy Spirit we can find the strength from within to forget the former things, the sin that so easily entangles, why? because God is making a new way in our dry place, and if you trust Him- I mean really trust Him-not swaying to the left or right , but submitting to the process ,He has for you to follow, you will see your new life spring forth. You see when the scripture says ‘a new way’ that means you must abandon your old ways : your old way of thinking, living, acting, speaking, communicating, new coping mechanisms, new parenting skills, new way of approaching life in general. This can be painful this is why you must seek the provision of the Lord through Holy Spirit for the journey.

Therefore, if we learn to see transition through God’s eyes , through God’s love, we will not fear because perfect love casts out all fear. What a gorgeous resource we have in knowing our Lord and Savior for though we all don’t deserve it, God is allowing us all to leave our old ways, and through Him transition into the new creation that our Salvation provides us.

And if we are lucky and brave we might , finally, be able to sit back and enjoy the ride…

Be safe this New Year’s Eve, and allow the sweet Lord to be the lamp to your feet and a light to your path as we all transition into a New Year!
