“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.” Hebrews 6:19
Unlike Dorothy, after arriving in Oz, this scripture reminds us all that it is safe to enter behind the curtain because, as a believer of the One who died on the cross for us, he tore the veil so that we could enter and not hesitate. Hope can be very difficult to grasp when your situation feels hopeless, but who hopes in what they can see?
For anyone who is struggling, as you wonder where and when you will finally see the tide change in your favor, remember when Jesus died he entered past the unknown, past the veil, as he endured the cross of the persecution, pain, mockery, doubt, and shame as he bore all of our sins so that we , humanity, could have a second chance at eternal life. Jesus , the human sacrifice, the lamb, the word that became flesh sealed our victory, and in that alone Jesus sealed all who believe right a long with Him.
Church, it is this same hope, which is in Christ, that dwells in each one of us. It is the hope and certainty of a promise ,made by God, to all that believe so, be encouraged as you fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and the finisher of your faith. Hold on and be certain , in your spirit, of the promise that has been made to all who take on the trials and tribulations of this world, for your reward will be great. Anchor this understanding in your soul, firmly, and keep it secure as it enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.
God Bless You, and stay encouraged…
